Raspberry Pi Official Annual 2027 is out now!

Some highlights from the over 200 pages of Raspberry Pi goodness include Whispering Wires – a telephone that allows you to get poetry read to you when you pick up the receiver. Maker Théo Z V Champion was inspired by people being curious by rotary telephones at vintage markets, and wondered how people would react if something had actually spoken to them when they used it.

There’s also Operation Pico, a fun take on the Hasbro boardgame created with a Raspberry Pi Pico. Not only does this recreate the original that you can play to your hearts content, it’s also a great exercise in CAD, carpentry, electronics, and painting! It’s a game you can create yourself.

Did you know the original DOOM came out on the SNES? It was quite a limited port compared to the PC version however for its 30th anniversary Limited Run games teamed up with Randal Linden, the original porter, to give it another shot. This time the cartridge came with much improved hardware courtesy of Raspberry Pi Pico, allowing it to run smoother and even have extra levels added.

Pepper Pi is an illusion by the team at Veeb, or at least, it uses an illusory technique popularised by the Victorians known as Pepper’s Ghost. This allows for a Raspberry Pi to create ghostly holographic projections on a glass dome thanks to some mirrors and clever video editing.
