Creating the game Rixe Marseille has been a labour of love for Instructables user Matlek and their girlfriend. “I have always wanted to make my own board game. And I have always wanted to play a board game with cities I know well,” says Matlek.
The design process took 2 years plus another 2 months to make it, but shortly after publishing the steps on Instructables they won Grand Prize in the Games Contest.

The map was drawn in Inkscape and Matlek’s advice is to master the layers tool. Having the different elements on their own layer avoids getting “muddled up” in the software. The playing pieces were modelled in Tinkercad and then 3D printed. To keep all the pieces organised, the duo created small storage boxes from cardboard and 3D printed corners.
